Color and Power Controls
■
Color Sensitivity
Raising color sensitivity will increase TI and more time will be spent on scanning the color image.
Color pulses become the dominant pulse type in this mode.
■
Color Sector Width
Narrowing the color sector width will raise the color frame rate and increase TI. The system will
automatically reduce the pulservoltage and maintain it below the system maximum level. Reducing
the pulser voltage will decrease MI. If Pulsed Doppler is running as well, Pulsed Doppler will remain
as the dominant mode and TI change will be minimal.
■
Color Sector Depth
If the color sector depth becomes greaterer, the system will automatically reduce the color frame
rate or choose a new color focal zone or color pulse length. Such a combination of eects causes
TI to change. In general, when color sector depth increases, TI will decrease. MI will respond to the
maximum intensity of the dominant pulse type, which is the color pulse. However, if Pulsed Doppler
is running as well, Pulsed Doppler will remain as the dominant mode and TI change will be minimal.
■
Scale
Increasing the range of color velocity by using the scale control can result in increase of TI. The
system will make automatic adjustments to keep the pulser voltage below the system maximum
level. Decreasing the pulser voltage also decreases MI.
■
Sec Width
Decreasing the 2D mode sector width in color imaging will increase the color frame rate. TI will
increase and MI will remain unchanged. If Pulsed Doppler is running as well, Pulsed Doppler will
remain as the dominant mode and TI change will be minimal.

■
Speed
M mode and Doppler sweep speed adjustments will not aect the MI. When M mode sweep speed
changes, TI changes.
