Chapter 4 Diagnosis Modes
4-15
■
Frame Avg
When an image is updated, the current and previous images are averaged. Speckles may appear
when the same diagnosis area is scanned continuously. This function is used to minimize such
speckles. Select a value between 0 and 9 with the dial-button. Frame Avg stands for Frame Average.
■
Harmonic
Press the dial-button to turn it on or o. When on, high frequency is used for optimizing the image.
The ‘HRA’ label will be displayed in the image data.
■
Color Map
Set the color map. Select a type between 1 and 8 with the dial-button.
■
M Line
Press the dial-button to turn it on or o. When on, the M line appears on the image. Use the trackball
to move the M line.
■
Sensitivity
Set the sensitivity of the color image. Select a value between 8 and 31 with the dial-button.
Increasing the value enhances the color image, but reduces the frame rate.
■
Balance
Adjust the range of color image display by comparing the Gray Level of the 2D image with the
Doppler signal values of the color image. As the Balance value increases, a color image appears
even in regions with a high Gray Level in a 2D image (in bright areas), extending the range of color
images.
Select a value between 1 and 16 with the dial-button.
■
2D/C Live
Press the dial-button to turn it on or o. When on, 2D Mode and Color Doppler Mode are used
simultaneously.
■
Scale
Turn the dial-button clockwise to increase the PRF (Pulse Repetition Frequency) and extend the
range of blood ow speed displayed. Turning it counterclockwise decreases the PRF and reduces
the range of blood ow speed displayed.
