Chapter 5 Measurements And Calculations

2D Hip Joint

This is a basic measurement that is available in all diagnosis modes. You can measure the angle of two

straight lines to a straight line in a 2D image. This measurement is commonly used in the obstetrics

application.

1. Use the Softmenu switch [4] 2D Hip Joint. “2D Hip Joint” is displayed on the left side of the screen.

2. Use the trackball and the Set button on the control panel to specify the rst straight line.

Place the cursor at a desired position with the trackball, and press the Set button.

3. Repeat the above process to specify two other straight lines.

4. The angle between them will be calculated automatically.

α: The angle between the rst and second straight lines.

β: The angle between the rst and third straight lines.

5. When the measurement is nished, its result is shown on the screen. The angles α and β, and the

Hip Joint Type are displayed on the screen.
