Chapter 5 Measurements and Calculations
Velocity
This is a basic measurement that is only available in Spectral Doppler Mode. You can specify one
point on a Spectral Doppler image to calculate the velocity.
NOTE: In a Spectral Doppler image, the X- and Y-axes represent time and velocity, respectively.
1. Select Velocity from the touch screen’s soft menu.
2. Specify (touch tap) one point.
3. Measurement results will be displayed on the screen.
4. To reposition the point of measurement, tap the area near the measurement point and then drag
& drop to reposition the point; the new measurement result will be displayed on the screen.
Manual Trace
This is a basic measurement that is only available in Spectral Doppler Mode. Specify one point on
a Spectral Doppler image, and trace a curve from that point to calculate the blood ow velocity,
average velocity, RI, and Pulsatility Index (PI).
1. Select Manual Trace from the touch screen’s soft menu.
2. Trace a curved line on the touch image.
X
you can delete part of the curve being traced by dragging the curved line in the opposite
direction of the tracing.
3. When the measurement is nished, its result is shown on the screen.
