Chapter 8 Measurements and Calculations
Auto IMT (Optional)
This function allows you to take IMT measurement easily and quickly.
NOTE: Auto IMT is available only under the following conditions:

Probe: Linear Probe
X
Application: Vascular
X
Diagnosis Mode: 2D Freeze Mode

Auto IMT Measurement
1. After checking the probe and the application, start a carotid scan.
2. If the desired images are obtained, press Freeze. Use the trackball to select an image for IMT
measurement.
3. Tap Auto IMT on the touch screen’s soft menu. The Auto IMT screen will be displayed.
4. In the left screen menu or on the touch screen, select the measurement label, the location of the
blood vessel, and the direction of blood ow.
5. Designate a start point for the area you wish to measure on the image, and drag diagonally to set
the measurement position. The measurement will be displayed on the screen.
