Correcting the red-eye effect

If the ﬂash ﬁres when you capture a photo of a person in the dark,

a red glow may appear in the eyes. To correct the red-eye effect, select

Auto Red-eye or Fill-in Red.

Without red-eye correction With red-eye correction

If the subject is too far from the camera or moves when the ﬁrst ﬂash ﬁres,

red-eyes may not be reduced.

Using the built-in ﬂash

To open the built-in ﬂash, press the ﬂash pop-up button. The ﬂash does

not ﬁre when the built-in ﬂash is closed, but automatically pops up and

ﬁres when you select Smart Flash, Auto, or Auto Red-eye.
